Andreas Giakoumelos
VENERGY MARITIME, DIRECTOR
Andreas Giakoumelos is a senior executive with extensive experience in strategy,
leadership, and maritime affairs. As Director at Venergy Maritime, he drives the company’s
strategic vision, leading key initiatives across ship acquisitions, newbuilding projects,
financing, fleet growth, and commercial development.
Before moving into executive leadership, Andreas practiced as a shipping finance lawyer at leading
international law firms, including Watson Farley & Williams and Stephenson Harwood LLP, advising
international banks, lessors, joint ventures, private equity funds, and shipping companies on
complex maritime and financing transactions.
He holds an MBA in Shipping from Alba Graduate Business School, an LL.M. in Maritime Law from the
University of Southampton, and a Diploma in Sustainability in Shipping.
Andreas also serves as a Board Member of HELMEPA (Hellenic Marine Environment Protection
Association), contributing to strategic planning and training initiatives that promote
sustainability, safety, and innovation across the
maritime industry.
