Ioanna Kalyvaki, MBA, is a senior executive with more than 25 years of leadership experience in
business development, commercial strategy, corporate communications and stakeholder engagement,
combined with over 7 years of active involvement in the international maritime industry. Throughout
her career, she has been recognized for driving growth, developing strategic partnerships,
expanding market presence and creating long-term value across complex and highly competitive
business environments.
Raised in a shipping family, she developed a strong connection with the maritime sector from an
early age. Her father dedicated more than 45 years to shipping, serving both as a Master Mariner
and in senior executive positions, fostering her lifelong commitment to the maritime industry.
She currently serves as Chief Growth & Commercial Officer and Director of Marine & War Risk
Insurance at Nautilus MSS, where she is responsible for growth strategy, commercial leadership,
international partnerships, market expansion and executive stakeholder relations. Throughout her
maritime career, she has worked closely with shipowners, brokers, insurers, underwriters, P&I;
Clubs and maritime organizations worldwide.
Ioanna holds an MBA from the University of Leicester (UK) and a BSc in Business Administration from
The American College of Greece. She is an active member of the international maritime community, a
contributor to maritime publications and a strong advocate for leadership,
collaboration, innovation and professional excellence in global shipping.
