Trip to Washington DC

Trip to Washington DC

Our President, Costis Frangoulis, completed a highly productive trip to Washington DC, in his capacity as 1st Vice President of the International Propeller Club.

During his visit, he held meetings with key figures of the U.S. maritime sector, alongside Maria Conatser, President, and Joel Whitehead, Executive Vice President. Meetings included discussions with RADM Wayne Arguin, Assistant Commandant for Prevention Policy, Jeff Lantz, Director of Commercial Regulations and Standards and Mike Emerson, Director of the Marine Transportation System Management and USCG Representative to the IMO.

Another important stop was the Federal Maritime Commission Headquarters, where they had a constructive meeting with Chairman Louis E. Sola.

A highlight of the visit was the attendance at the 41st Frank Courtenay “Salute to Congress” Dinner at the Army Navy Country Club, organized annually by the International Propeller Club. This year’s event recognized the leadership of Congressman Rick Larsen, ranking member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. Joining the event was Dorothea Ioannou, 2nd Vice President of the International Propeller Club and Governor of our Club.

The trip also included an Executive Committee meeting followed by a reception for members visiting DC, at the Club’s Headquarters in Fairfax, Virginia.
