Maria Hajioannou is the ESG Executive of Alassia NewShips Management Inc., a private dry bulk shipping company. She spearheads all of the company's ESG activities, collaborating closely with all departments, from Technical and HSQE to Crew and HR. She holds a BSc in Insurance and Investments from City University and an MSc in Maritime Business from Solent University. She served on the Executive Board of the Propeller Club, Port of Piraeus, as Treasurer from 2023-2026, and is currently in her second term as Governor, as well as being the 2nd Vice Chairperson at HELMEPA since 2025 and a member of the Board of Directors since 2022.
