Valentios Valentis

Valentios (Eddie) Valentis was born in Athens, Greece in 1967 and has over 30 years of experience in the shipping industry, including owning, operating and managing tankers and bulk carriers. He is the Founder and Chairman of the Board and CEO of Pyxis Tankers Inc., a NASDAQ listed “PXS” company which is focusing on the product tanker sector . He is also the President of Pyxis Maritime Corp., a company he founded in 2007 which is concentrating in the tanker management sector .  Since 2001, Mr Valentis is also the President & CEO of Konkar Shipping Agencies S.A., a drybulk owner/operator /manager based in Greece.

From 1998 to 2001, he was the Commercial Manager for the L. G. Matsas shipping group. From 1996 through 1998, he worked as a dry cargo chartering broker and from 1989 to 1995 he was involved in the operations of drybulk vessels as well as in the salvage & towage business both on board and on shore.

Mr. Valentis has holds a MBA from Southern New Hampshire University, USA.

Mr. Valentis is an elected executive committee member of the International Tanker Owners Association (INTERTANKO), an executive committee member of the Maltese International Shipowners Association (MISA) and a member of the Greek Committee of NKK Classification Society since 2013.
