4th Online Members’ Meeting 2020

On May 25, 2020, the Propeller Club held its 4th online Members’ Meeting.The meeting began with the results of a study titled “Greek Maritime Professionals Working From Home Due to COVID-19”, presented by member, Philip Nielsen.

Guest speaker, Mr. Nikolaos Bakatselos, President of the American – Hellenic Chamber of Commerce, followed by highlighting the role of The American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce and the importance of Hellenic-American relations.

Mr. Bakatselos spoke about the state of the Greek Economy today and the fundamental changes we are seeing due to the COVID-19 crisis. This includes the impact on tourism, the need for export diversification, the rise of the energy industry, the need for efficiency and the digitization of the public service, and a stable tax system. He also covered the geopolitical and economic implications of strained relations between the US, Europe, and China and how trading interests would force all to reassess their positions.

The meeting closed with an open discussion among members and remarks from our President who also thanked members for their participation and support.
