The Economist Shipping Summit

On Thursday March 5th, our President, Costis Frangoulis, participated in The Economist Shipping Summit, joining Mr. Panos Xenokostas, Founder and President of Onex Shipyards & Technologies, in a discussion around the Shipyards sector in Greece.

The conversation covered ONEX’s success story, the revival of ship repairs, the recent tugboat newbuilding project, the agreement with Hanwha and the integrated hub concept.

The discussion also highlighted the important role Greek shipyards could play in the renewal of the country’s coastal fleet and the future of shipbuilding in Greece.

We congratulate the organizers and moderator Alasdair Ross for an excellent forum and for fostering a constructive exchange of views on issues of importance to the maritime community.
