Philippos Tsangrides Panagopoulos is the CEO of Magna Marine Inc., a privately-held dry bulk shipping company. He continues the legacy of his grandfather, the late Pericles S. Panagopoulos, who founded the company nearly 35 years ago.
Philippos became CEO of Magna in 2020, having started his career interning at Merrill Lynch Wealth Management and subsequently spending two years in the chartering department of a major dry bulk publicly listed shipping company.
He was born in San Francisco and raised in Athens. After graduating from Athens College, he obtained a BSc in Business, Finance and International Management from Menlo College, California, and furthered his studies with an MSc in Shipping, Trade and Finance from Bayes (formerly Cass) Business School, City University of London.
In addition to shipping, Philippos is passionate about art, and is a founding committee member of the Young Patrons program of the Museum of Cycladic Art.
