Visit to Washington DC

Visit to Washington DC

Our President, Costis Frangoulis, managed a full agenda of interesting and productive meetings while on his 4-day trip to Washington DC.

His schedule included the opportunity to visit the Annapolis Naval Academy, on 11 June, accompanied by our Member and Annapolis graduate, Captain Robert Palm, USN, Retired.

The following day, he had very constructive meetings during his visit to the US Coast Guard Headquarters, where he met with RDML Wayne Arguin, Assistant Commandant for Prevention Policy, as well as the U.S. State Dept., where he had the chance to meet with the Assistant Secretary of State, Geoffrey Pyatt and discussed various matters related to our Club and its activities, Greek Shipping, and the cooperation between Greece and the U.S. in maritime issues.

On 13 June, Costis Frangoulis attended the ‘’Salute to Congress’’ organized by the International Propeller Club, honoring Sen. Maria Cantwell, in recognition of her years of leadership and advocacy for the maritime industry.

During the event, our President was given the opportunity to meet and exchange views with Presidents and Members from the Propeller network, VIPs from the political and maritime circle, including -among others- Senator Cantwell, Rebecca Dye, Head of the Federal Maritime Commission and VADM Peter Gautier USCG, Deputy Commandant for Operations.

Finally, on 14 June, in his capacity as the International Vice President of the International Propeller, he participated in an Executive Committee meeting, at the Headquarters.
